Though I don’t have much money, I always try to think positively. However, sometimes, I also feel depressed and sad when I think how others have more than me, so I hate thinking about money. When I was younger, I always wondered why money was so important. But as I get older, of course that changes.

Last night, on my way home I stopped by to buy some hamburgers at a fast food restaurant. On my way in, a homeless man came over and asked, “Do you have any bottles lying around?” I knew he would recycle them for a few cents, but I had none. And again he asked, “Can you spare some change?” I smiled and said, “Sorry, I don’t.” He was respectful, saying, “OK, thank you.” Though he didn’t have anything, he was still in good spirits.

I went in and ate my meal, but I wondered if he was hungry, thinking if I should buy him something or not. Only after I finished my meal did I decide to order another one for him. At this point I didn’t know if he was still around, but I tried anyway. At the counter I ordered a hamburger and also a hot chocolate, for it was cold outside. As I waited, I noticed the homeless man standing beside me with a tray(盘子)full of a few coins. I looked at him and smiled, “The hamburger and this hot chocolate are for you.” He replied like a gentleman, “Thank you. That’s very kind of you.”

No matter how hard your life is, there are always those whose life is harder. And it’s not always about happiness, but it’s about love. If you love someone, you’ll give them what they deserve because the greatest thing you can give is love.
